As Jesus entered the town of Nain, which means pleasantness and beauty, some were carrying a dead man out, the only son of a widow (Luke 7:11-17). Some magnificent exchanges occurred, life for death, victory over defeat, light over darkness, rejoicing over mourning. When Jesus comes on the scene, miracles happen! He is a miracle Himself, born of a virgin by the power of the Holy Spirit! It is no surprise that signs, wonders, and miracles follow Him! He told that widow, “Don’t cry.” He commanded the dead man, “Get up!” Look unto the heavens from where your help comes, expect the unexpected, stand in awe of, and praise God today!
